2011 Structural Award Winners Announced

18.11.11

Two KLH UK projects received awards at the 2011 Structural Awards ceremony on Friday night (18th November) at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square:

Royal Shakespeare Theatre Redevelopment - Winner - Heritage Award for Building or Infrastructure Projects

The judges commented that "The sensitive and complex refurbishment and remodelling of this landmark in our cultural heritage has elevated what was undoubtedly a theatre that was artistically world-renowned into a theatre that is technically world-class".

Open Academy Norwich - Commendation - David Alsop Sustainability Award

The judges commented that "Sustainable design needs to be brought into the mainstream by model projects that demonstrate repeatable green innovation that satisfies the architectural vision and the Client's budget.  The Open Academy certainly does this by delivering a stunning building that expertly showcases timber modular construction.  Praise is also due to the Client for driving the sustainability agenda".

Thanks to Ramboll for a great night, and congratulations to everyone involved in both projects.
