St John Fisher School Wins a Green Apple

St John Fisher School in Peterborough has won the 2010 International Green Apple Award for the Built Environment.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the project - Kier Eastern, Gotch Saunders & Suridge Architects and Ramboll.

The £11 million redevelopment project featured a number of sustainable building techniques including KLH cross-laminated timber panels, ground source heat pumps, solar hot water collectors mounted on the south facing roofs and a wind turbine located at the front of the school.  The project included new and refurbished classrooms, a library; sports hall and all-weather pitch along with music, drama, and ICT rooms.
