Hastings Pier Visitor Centre

The Stirling Prize for 2017 was awarded to dRMM for the restoration of the grade II listed pier which was severely damaged by arson in 2010. The 280m long pier was repaired and new deck laid. A new visitors centre was constructed using our Cross Laminated Timber, clad in the limited timber decking that survived the fire. The new visitors centre is 100% KLH UK CLT structure with a warm exposed CLT timber interior. The centre includes a community space and educational centre, along with a rooftop viewing terrace and café.
