Caring Wood

Winner of the RIBA House of the Year Award 2017.

Caring Wood is a new country house close to the village of Leeds, in Kent. Three generations of the same family share the house, with one family residing in each 'Oast'. The project utilises contemporary sustainable design while also exploring the Kentish vernacular utilising local materials and craft. The CLT build involved complex shapes with low tolerances and some challenging connections.
