Sustainable
Construction
Sustainability and the use of domestic materials played a major role during the construction of the mama thresl hotel which is why the entire project was realised as a solid wood construction. An added bonus was the short construction time resulting from a high degree of pre-manufacturing with regard to the individual, loadbearing wall and ceiling elements. Thanks to detailed workshop planning and elaborate logistics, the assembly of the some 4,500 square metres of KLH solid timber boards only took six weeks.
The connection of tradition and modernity is reflected in the entire building through the successful combination of natural building materials and modern design. Elements such as showers made from rock and stone washbasins underline the naturalness and authenticity of the novel Hotel.
Project Info
True to the motto “urban soul meets the alps”, the mama thresl hotel in Leogang in the state of Salzburg shows how alpine hotels dispense with clichés and conventions. The new hotel with its 50 rooms was entirely built from solid wood and guests can enjoy the magnificent scent of Swiss stone pine in every single room.
