New Dyson Centre for Neo-natal Care Opens at RUH Bath


The new Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care at the Royal United Hospital in Bath opened on the 23rd July, with the first baby Joshua Heather, transported from the old neonatal unit on Saturday.  The centre, part of the Royal United Hospital, will provide care for 500 premature and sick babies a year.

The new centre designed by Fielden Clegg Bradley is an exemplar design model for the practice of development care.  The building, a single storey new build extension, houses the clinical, support and reception functions as well as staff and parents' facilities.

The project has achieve BREEAM Excellent with the superstructure built from KLH and a sedum roof for rainwater attenuation and to increase biodiversity on the site.
